In 2023, membership has grown 16%. We are intentional about creating diverse leadership and recruiting RT professionals.
With membership support, we advocate for the profession and fight for the concerns of Respiratory Therapist
Over the past year, we worked hard to bring quality education offering more than 30 CRCEs to impact patient care.
Dr. Charles Matson, past president of the Georgia Society for Respiratory Care (2006–2007), devoted his career to advancing the profession and supporting those who entered it. He was a strong advocate for respiratory therapy in Georgia and gave generously of his time and expertise through service, presentations, and mentorship. His leadership and dedication helped strengthen the GSRC and the broader respiratory therapy community. Remembered for his knowledge, fairness, and gift for making learning meaningful, Charles leaves behind a legacy of education, service, and community that will continue to inspire for years to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Retired MGA Respiratory Faculty and Staff Scholarship, established in his honor through the Middle Georgia State University Foundation, at https://giving.mga.edu/. Please note in the comments section that the contribution is for the "Charles Matson Scholarship."
Sincerely,
Amy Owens, BS, RRT-NPS
